WHO WE ARE: Water For Grassroots supports community organizing groups in the swing states. We help them win elections and build grassroots power that can last beyond one election cycle. They know the local political terrain, and how to reach people who might not otherwise vote. Volunteering with a grassroots group is the most effective way you can help defeat Trump in November – and change the swing states for good.

In 2020, Water For Grassroots (W4G) is partnering with Pennsylvania Stands Up, Make The Road-PA, New Florida Majority, LUCHA in Arizona, Durham For All in North Carolina, and more. See our Calendar for different ways you can volunteer.

WHAT YOU CAN DO

Want to join local organizers in reaching out to swing-state voters?  Here are some ways you can help. Click here to see when and how to volunteer.

MAKE CALLS

A conversation with a voter is our most effective tool in this election. In the Covid crisis, grassroots groups are getting good results with creative use of the phone. The biggest need is for phonebank volunteers!

SEND TEXTS

Texting is a great way to reach hundreds of voters – and over 90% of texts get read. We share links for registering to vote or requesting a mail ballot online; tell people about candidates; & help get them to the polls.

DONATE

Community-based groups are highly effective at expanding the electorate, and getting new voters to the polls. But too often, they’re short on funds at election time – just when they can do the most good.

OUR PARTNERS

WHY GRASSROOTS GROUPS

In this article, Peter Hogness of Water For Grassroots and Emily Lee of Seed the Vote lay out why volunteering with swing-state community organizing groups is the most effective way to work on the 2020 election.

These groups have been organizing in their communities for years, and they know how to reach people who might not otherwise cast a ballot. By working with them you can help defeat Trump – and build grassroots power for the future.

Defeating Trump is too important to leave to the Biden Campaign. We can help
