NOV 3: ELECTION PROTECTION WITH MAKE THE ROAD
Make The Road-PA is organizing nonpartisan Election Protection teams to make sure voters in Reading, Allentown and Philadelphia can cast their ballots on November 3 without disruption. (Their biggest need for volunteers is now in Philadelphia.)
To join this effort you’ll need a car. If you can volunteer for the entire day, please plan to stay in in the city where you're working on Monday night, so that you can be at your assigned polling place by 6:30am.
If possible, volunteers are asked to get a rapid Covid test before they leave & bring results with them. If you're unable to do so, let the volunteer coordinator know when they contact you. In NYC, schedule a rapid Covid test up to 48 hours in advance at nyc.gov/health/covidexpress, for results in a few hours. If you have trouble connecting, try using a different browser or your phone.)
If you did not take part in the online de-escalation training this weekend, you'll be emailed a recording of that session. Please allow two hours to watch it in full.

If full or partial support for hotel or car rental costs would make it possible for you to volunteer, please email info@water4grassroots.org ASAP with the amount you expect to request, and we’ll write back to confirm so you can make reservations. We can cover up to $110 for one night’s hotel stay, up to $110 for a two-day car rental, and up to $50 for gas & tolls. After you’re back home, email us the receipts and we’ll reimburse you up to those limits.
